Currently, the experimental MR pavilion is under reconstruction and the 24-year experimental MR spectrometer is being replaced with a new one. The new device should be operational by the end of this year.

In 1999, the experimental MR spectrometer Bruker Biospec 4.7T/20 was installed as the first in vivo experimental spectrometer in the Czech Republic. It was retired in the summer of 2023 and remained operational until the very last moment.
With its assistance, over two hundred publications dedicated to experimental MR methods were produced. Some of the most interesting studies, which should be included, involve research with iron nanoparticles, which, for instance, contributed to the understanding of the mechanism of Langerhans islet transplantation in the treatment of diabetes.
In the summer of 2023, the reconstruction of the experimental MR pavilion commenced, and the new system (Bruker Biospec 7T/30) was relocated on October 17, 2023. The entire installation will be completed by the end of the year.
